During this season, they were managed by Giovanni Trapattoni who led them to the Bundesliga title in 96/97 ad then the DFB-Pokal and 2nd in the league in 97/98. This classic Bayern shirt was manufactured by Adidas and worn by the likes of Lothar Matthaus, Jurgen Klinsmann, Thomas Helmer, Mehmet Scholl, Markus Babbel and Christian Ziege. This classic Bayern Munich shirt is a great opportunity to own a stunning piece of vintage Munich and German football shirt history.
This shirt is a Match Issue Champions League Away Shirt, made for Christian Nerlinger for the PSG vs Bayern Munich Champions League Group Stage match on 5th November, 1997. This shirt was never worn in the game due to a sponsor clash as both PSG and bayern Munich were both sponsored by OPEL that season, according to the UEFA rules at the time, no two clubs were allowed to wear the same sponsor in the same match. The OPEL sponsor is slightly larger on this shirt as per UEFA rules also compared to the standard league shirt.
